Public Places for People…

We are repeatedly taught about the fact that better civic spaces make cities people friendly and no doubt you can see some of these public places in action around our cities. But how do you determine what is good and what is bad? Everyone has their own perspective and it’s definitely dependant on a number of factors that vary between different cities. There’s no one-stop solution. However, there are some basic concepts that can be applied across the board.

I found this article exploring the idea of public spaces and looks at some examples, such as the High Line in New York, and riverfront areas that have been reinvented for people.
